5 Things You Need to Do Daily to Meet Your Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Goals

It's the last month of the year! Hopefully you hit your goals and realize your vision for this year. What should you be doing at this point to ensure a successful 2023 fiscal year? Let's talk about it. Keep reading…

Can you believe 2022 is almost coming to an end? I can't believe it either.
The fourth quarter is going by so fast, I feel like I am getting swallowed up in paperwork, marketing my business, trying to make a sale and get new clients, AND all while being a wife and mom to two small school-age children. The saying is so true "a woman's work is never done." That's because when we have a chance to relax we add more to our plate. Sitting still is not what we do best. Am I right or am I right?
After suffering a major heart attack back 2013 and was on the verge of having a second one in 2017, I make it a point every day to take a moment for myself and reflect on what I've already accomplished and HOW I was able to accomplish it. What about you?
Each year we set goals for ourselves with the promise we're going to reach them by the end of the year. Then the end of the year arrives and we realize some or none of our goals have been accomplished.
One thing we fail to consider is why we keep missing the mark when it comes to executing our bigger vision. I had to step back and ask myself:
Question 1) Are the goals I'm setting too high to reach or am I setting the wrong goals with the wrong outcomes?
Question 2) Am I being intentional with my time and focusing my energy on the right activities to hit my goals?
Let me answer these two questions for you:
Answer 1) If your goals are too high for YOU to reach, consider finding the tools and resources that can help you or handing off the task to someone more skilled or qualified who can reach the goal for you. Sounds easier said than done, right?
Answer 2) If you're wasting your time creating new products and services and giving your attention to the ones you already have to offer, you're wasting time. Focus on offering one product or service at a time and putting your energy towards the activities that will help you hit my goals faster. Find that one thing you know how to do so well and people need it the most from you and share that!
Repeat after me: I will no longer engage in aimless, pointless and fruitless activities.
This is the point where I will discuss the habits of highly successful people and why some of us are able to reach our goals while others struggle in this area.
Here are the five things you need to do daily to meet your goals
1. Write it down
Each day, say or write three things you are grateful for. A simple affirmation can give a boost to your mind and can make your day fruitful. Start saying some positive thoughts to yourself. Then, engage in activities that will help stay focused and happy to work on your goals.
2. Find inspiration
When I am not inspired to work on my goals, I stop working and do things that inspire me. Take a break from work! Find something that moves you forward every single day. Create a habit of reading daily. There are so many good books which will help you to achieve your goals. Here's my top list of books to read which you can find on Amazon.
3. Join like-minded people and learn from them
Connect with people who share your interests and hobbies. Leave your group if you're the most successful member.
4. Evaluate and work on our goals daily
Reading and visualizing are two things that happen when you read. Believe and feel it - that this is going to happen and work on making it happen. Write down your plans so you can read and visualize it happening.
Don't just read and visualize - plan & execute!
Planning is what you want to do and execution is what you plan to do. That takes action. If you say I am going to exercise three times a week and meal plan 5 days a week.
Write down: Get a gym membership, schedule the gym on your calendar, pick days and times to the gym and work out.
Write down: Pick a day each week to stop by the grocery store (when the store is less crowded), buy the ingredients, buy food containers, pick days to cook the food and meal plan (decide which meals you plan to cook).
Easier said than done. But, in order to execute your plans it takes discipline. Without discipline nothing gets executed. Let that sink in.
Which brings me to my last point.
5. Exercise daily, make health your priority
The greatest asset you have is your health. If your health is good, your life will feel good as well. You'll be more likely and motivated to hit your goals when you feel up to it. Take naps and get outside!
The quality of your life isn't measured by hard you work but how much you enjoy your hard work. You can celebrate your accomplishments only after you've done the work. Let that sink in!
Choose 1 and Take action
Look back at the 5 points we went over, choose the one that is currently affecting you the most, and take action on it!
