How to Get your Biggest Priorities Done This Month?

Be realistic with yourself. How much of your biggest priorities are you going to get done this month/year?

Heck, this fall?

If you’re already overwhelmed thinking about all the things you have to do—the answer is evidently NONE!

Start by getting everything out of your head.

Here are three ways to get things off your to do list and fast:

✔️ Eliminate your biggest to dos

First, look over your list and get rid of tasks you hate to do, don’t do or can’t do.

Either finish them yourself or assign someone else to handle the tasks for you.

Start with your biggest task first. Break them down to bite size tasks. Work in 15 minute increments.

Do priority tasks early in the day or first thing in the morning. Use your energy to finish must do’s at peak hours.

10 AM to 11 AM is my peak hour. I’ve had my breakfast and tea, my juices are flowing and I’m ready to carry out functions to get work done.

I will look over my priority list and see what’s the biggest task holding me back and I tackle that one first.

Use a tool like GetBusy.com or Clickup.com to get organized and stay productive!

✔️ Automate your processes

Next, put must do’s on autopilot.

Can you automate certain tasks such as emails, marketing or social media posts? If so, find the right tools that will do the job and let your systems do 80% of the work for you.

I hate scheduling my Instagram social media posts but I know this is something I must do being that I generate 40% of my revenue on that platform.

When I’m not actively posting or doing a livestream I’m losing money. The solution to remain active is to automate most of the process.

I use a tool called Planoly to plan content for the week. I am able to schedule post such as photos for my feed and videos for my stories simply by using Planoly. If you don’t have a dedicated team member doing this task for you, a system can be your own personal assistant.

I save about 2.5 hours a week automating my social media content.

Figuring out what to post takes 20% of the effort, while having this app do 80% of the work.

Unfortunately, the app can't do all the work. You still have to engage with your followers and make real time connections.

✔️ Delegate tasks

Learn to delegate.

This is something a lot of business owners find very difficult to do. Handing over a task to someone else that you're so use to doing (and you do it so well) is a little hard to let go of.

I totally get it!

However, just think of the benefit of not having that mundane and time consuming task on your to do list anymore. Delegating is so easy and necessary if you want to focus on growing your small business. You simply make a list and hand it over to your assistant (with detailed instructions of course and maybe even a short Loom explainer video).

That simple!

Yet, it is very hard for business owners to delegate. For most small business owners the hardest part is figuring out what to delegate first.

Here’s my top list of what to let go:

Administrative tasks:

  • Calendar & Appointment Setting

  • Scheduling Meetings, Important dates, etc.

  • Travel Plan & Reservations

Financial tasks:

  • Data Entry and creating spreadsheets

  • CRM Update

  • Invoicing/Billing Services

Marketing tasks:

  • Email marketing

  • Blog Writing

  • Online advertising (FB and IG Ads)

  • Social Media account setup

  • Ongoing Social Media management

Online Business Management tasks:

  • Create systems and processes

  • Identify and set up tools to make your process run smoothly

  • Systems Access and Logins

If you're worried the work won't get done use a productivity tool like Trello.com, Asana.com or ClickUp.com to outline tasks you need done quickly, monitor what's getting done, help your team get more organized and track projects on your priority list.

Share your boards with your team or assistant and invite others to work on tasks for you while you focus on your clients.

Keep these tips in mind:

If it takes longer then say 10-15 minutes to complete, you’re better off giving the task to someone else (a team member or work with a virtual assistant if you can't afford to hire a full time employee).

Problem solved!
