Most service providers shy away from offering their services on Black Friday. The truth is, Black Friday isn’t just for big box retailers anymore and it’s not just for product-based businesses either. It is not even for those that want to fill courses and programs.

Service based businesses can offer packages or services and capitalize on the momentum of increasing sales, meeting revenue goals, and see the benefits long after Black Friday is over.

Grab your pen and paper now. Take notes! Let's break down the 3 ways to turn your packages and services into a discount-free offer that you can promote on Black Friday?

Tip #1 - Create an irresistible service offering your ideal client would love to hire you for

I know this is kind of hard, but not really. Just pick one service you offer and promote it starting now until Nov. 25th. Here are some ideas:

Offer #1 - Administrative work (you can include customer service and bookkeeping)

Offer #2 - Digital marketing (stick to one type that you provide, don't offer all of them e.g. email marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, refferal marketing, network marketing, etc.)

Offer #3 - Copywriting (ad copy & content creation such as online course creation, SOPs, blogging, etc.)

Offer #4 - Operations, project or team management)

Offer #5 - One-time systems and process implementation

Offer #6 - Website design and 3-month maintenance

Offer #7 - Sales or Tech support

Write this down: Choose one of these as a service you can offer discount-free on Black Friday.

Tip #2 - Price to Sell to High End Clients

Can you charge $1000 or higher to perform this service? For instance, if you’re offering admin services, determine the value of the service? How many hours can you dedicate each week to help the client manage their inbox, complete admin tasks, calendar and schedule appointments?

It's important to know: what makes the service valuable and a profitable investment to the client? Providing customer service support, making outbounding and inbound calls can be valuable to a client who needs a sales rep or customer relationship manager and will help them see a better return on their investment.

As a part time assistant, you could easily justify charging $1000 a month or more to provide admin work simply by adding on features to the service that your client needs from you.

Write this down: Once you've determined the value of the service and your time, price to sell. If you already offer one service (good for you!), we recommend offering your highest package first. How much is your highest package? You can always counteroffer your medium and lowest priced package (if they require less client work and hours). As a rule of thumb, if a potential client can't afford your lowest priced package, they are likely not your ideal client. You are better off letting them know they are not a good fit right now and that they should reach out to you when the time is right. Whatever you do, don't negotiate your (already) reasonable priced services.

Tip #3: Put together a marketing plan and promotion strategy

You didn't start your business to not have clients. It's time to promote like a BOSS! A marketing plan and promotion strategy helps you to position yourself to sell and attract the ideal (paying) clients you want to work with. Your marketing plan outlines:

  • Who you are

  • What you do

  • What you offer (package or service)

  • Who the offer is designed for

  • What pain points does it solves

  • What benefits or results does it offer

  • When and how to promote the offer (implement your marketing strategies)

  • Where to promote the offer

  • How long to promote the offer

  • How to deliver on your promise
